Larry Zimmerer, one of the owners, called me personally and asked me to come back. He said his shop would fix the problem and they did.

He provided us with a Side by Side Kubota for the Fall season to make up for the time lost with the ZD. This is a great family business and they take care of their customers.

The ZD326 is the most unreliable machine on my farm. Electronic failure without notice.

The dealer can’t pinpoint the problem. It mows great when it runs. But if you stop to eat lunch, it won’t even turn over when you return. Turn the key and not a sound.

This mower has been in the shop numerous times at the Kubota dealer where I bought it for the same electronic failure. Of course, they take no responsibility and I pay every time I take it in. The shop manager feels bad about it and has come out to our farm on his own time many times to try and troubleshoot the problem. He will think he found the problem, then the next week it fails again.

It went on the blink around 50 hours; then at least once every 14 hours since then. I’ve asked for my money back several times but the dealer said no. The dealer did loan me a mower once because they felt bad about my lemon. All together I’ve missed 12 weeks of mowing.

I’ve owned it 3 years. It has 900 hours now. We are an event center. We host large groups, company picnics, etc.

It seems the timing of the ZD326 failure always happens at crunch time when we’ve set aside a day to get our grounds ready for guests. Whenever this happens (like last week), I go to our local rental yard and rent a Scagg zero turn... a great machine!

Last Friday i set aside the day to mow and the Kubota ran until i stopped for a Gatorade. When I got back on it, it wouldn't start.

So saturday, very unhappy, I went back to the dealer and met with the sales manager. He offered me $3,500 for my Kubota ZD326 lemon toward the purchase of a new one. I bought the Kubota ZD326 for about $15,500 just 3 years ago.

I was, and am offended. I have a Kubota tractor that I like, but my ZD326 is a lemon.

At our business we need dependable equipment to keep our grounds manicured.

The Kubota ZD326 is not dependable. I will be buying a Scagg rear discharge this next week.

If Kubota would acknowledge the design flaw, put out a tech bulletin, own the problem and fix each customers issue then I would continue buying their products. This one issue cost them 2 large tractor sales. I bought green and I’ve had a good experience.

Well I have found the problem with the 326’s and 331’s .im not sure if I should tell the world or charge everyone like half of our sorry *** fellow Americans.anyway I’ll spill the beans cause I’m the other half of Americans that care.ok you have to trace the hot large red wire coming from fuse near starter to ignition and I will guarantee it has a break in it .I have repaired all three of mine it’s a flaw in the wiring and Kunitz knows .please trust me that this is the problem

Thanks for sharing but looks to be almost impossible. I looked and the wire is wrapped in a harness then goes through multiple connections. Was the short or break in a certain area?

Has anyone had the plate that holds the starter break off where the starter attaches to it, on a zd1211?

I've had similar problems, but my latest is it keeps stalling. I have 990 hrs on it.

Brought it brand new.

Have changed the filters and kept up on maintenance. It will get hot and not start right.

Yes. same here.

Two issues with this model. 1) on hot days starter gets hot and warps. Then wont start until it cools off. You may tap with a hammer and it may start.

Mine would. 2) All electric safety switches are touchy. There are several. They have contact points.

When one gets dirty, the mower wont start. So yes, yours has same issues mine did.

I had the same problem with our 10 year old ZD331 and two dealers could not find the problem. I replaced all of the safety sensors, and most of the all of the electronic components.

I even added a extra ground on the other side of the engine.

The problem still continued. I finally replaced the wiring harness and that fixed the problem.

That’s good news! It would help if my dealer cared (Zimmerer Kubota in Cleburne, TX).

My Kubota ZD326 has been in their shop, this time, 4 weeks now. They know my mower well. It spends a lot of time there. The dealer won’t take responsibility for the obvious design flaw.

I have given up. I went and bought a different brand.

I am thinking I need to replace the wiring harness as well on my ZD326. Started clicks but will not turn over, only occasionally will it start. New everything electrically speaking.

I too have 2 ZD326's and the main wire harness coming from the starter area going to the relay box shorts out from faulty factory splices in the main red wires. Just slide it out of the black plastic sleeve and make your repairs.
